Bring It On: Fight to the Finish (2009, Bille Woodruff) - 8.5
Christina Milian is a Cuban-American cheerleader from East L.A. whose mom marries a rich white guy, and they all move to Malibu. Milian reluctantly joins the misfit cheerleading squad at her new school, and trains them to be better cheerleaders than the rival All-Star squad, who are dicks. The script is hilarious, and there are some really funny, really amazing scenes here, but unfortunately, a great deal of the actors are distractingly bad, and the jokes as well as the general watchability takes a hit because of it. Sometimes the pacing seemed off, too, either due to bad editing or bad direction, so I could never quite love the movie as much as I wanted to. Milian as the lead, however, is cheer-iffic (there are like 100 “cheer” puns in this movie). She’s charming and funny and cute, and always keeps the movie within “really good” territory despite any flaws. Her relationship arc with her step-sister is especially touching. I'd say this is third best in the series after All or Nothing and the original.
